My lack of follow up was caused by a severe technological snafu (ie. 30+lb 4yr old accidentally stepping on the LCD screen of our laptop) and not the result of mommy brain, thank you very much.
A new computer is in the forseeable future and I will adamantly follow through with this endeavor….it may possibly turn into one of my 2011 resolutions.
Christmas truly was one of the best, if not THE best yet. It had nothing to do with what Rob and I got (although we are super stoked about our new firepit and cannot wait to use it), but of the sheer excitement, anticipation, joy, and magic shared between our two children. Jacob is now 4 and it was really the first year where he had an actual consistent list of items that he truly wished for Santa to leave under the tree. Specifically, it was a “Talking Woody” “Talking Jessie” and “Talking Buzz” that he automatically offered anytime anyone asked what he wanted for Christmas. You can imagine the sheer panic I felt when the dreaded “Sold Out” was uttered by the Disney Store clerk just days before Santa was to begin his journey…..
Grandma, thank goodness, was able to save the day and “Talking Jessie” is now safe on a certain little boy’s bed.
If there is only one thing to take away from this year’s Christmas, it is the gift of devotion and adoration that Jake and Maddie share for eachother. They are inseparable. Jacob constantly looking out for his little sister and Maddie reveling in the fact that she truly believes her big brother is a superhero.
